Computably Enumerable Partial Orders

چکیده
We study the degree spectra and reverse-mathematical applications of computably enumerable and co-computably enumerable partial orders. We formulate versions of the chain/antichain principle and ascending/descending sequence principle for such orders, and show that the latter is strictly stronger than the latter. We then show that every ∅′-computable structure (or even just of c.e. degree) has the same degree spectrum as some computably enumerable (co-c.e.) partial order, and hence that there is a c.e. (co-c.e.) partial order with spectrum equal to the set of nonzero degrees.

متن کاملA Necessary and Sufficient Condition for Embedding Ranked Finite Partial Lattices into the Computably Enumerable Degrees
We define a class of finite partial lattices which admit a notion of rank compatible with embedding constructions, and present a necessary and sufficient condition for the embeddability of a finite ranked partial lattice into the computably enumerable degrees.
متن کاملA Join Theorem for the Computably Enumerable Degrees
It is shown that for any computably enumerable (c.e.) degree w, if w 6= 0, then there is a c.e. degree a such that (a ∨w)′ = a′′ = 0′′ (so a is low2 and a ∨w is high). It follows from this and previous work of P. Cholak, M. Groszek and T. Slaman that the low and low2 c.e. degrees are not elementarily equivalent as partial orderings.
متن کاملDiierence Sets and Computability Theory Zoltt an F Uredi
For a set A of non-negative integers, let D(A) (the diierence set of A) be the set of non-negative diierences of elements of A. Clearly, if A is computable, then D(A) is computably enumerable. We show (as partial converses) that every simple set which contains 0 is the diierence set of some computable set and that every computably enumerable set is computably isomorphic to the diierence set of ...
متن کاملThe complexity of central series in nilpotent computable groups
The terms of the upper and lower central series of a nilpotent computable group have computably enumerable Turing degree. We show that the Turing degrees of these terms are independent even when restricted to groups which admit computable orders.
